    Kay has lived in the Bastrop area her entire life. She is a huge help to our Crossroads Animal Hospital family as she has kept our files in order for us since January of 2001.

    She is married and has four grown children, five grandchildren and a seven-year-old Heeler named Mattie. Kay enjoys the outdoors and likes fishing, hunting and camping.

    Veterinay Assistant

    Driann became part of our Crossroads family in February 2008. She has one younger brother named Derwin. Her furry family includes 3 dogs; Coco, Jetta and Shi and a cat named Man. 

    When she’s not here at the hospital Driann enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pets. She loves to travel, shop, play the clarinet, visit art galleries and engage in intellectual conversations.

  • Yesenia (Jessie)

    Jessie is originally from Mexico and now makes her home in Cedar Creek with her son Andrew Nava and their two dogs; Lucy, a Pomeranian mix and Charlie, a Terrier mix

    She says “a pet is the only one on earth who loves you more than he loves himself.” She likes to go hiking, dancing, and enjoys hanging out with friends and family. 

  • Angelyn
    Hospital Manager

    Angelyn’s career in veterinary medicine started in 1983 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi where she grew up. She began working with us as a veterinary technician in January 1992 after moving to Bastrop in 1991. Angelyn was promoted to office manager and then hospital administrator in June 2014.  She became our Hospital Manager in August of 2019.

    She is engaged to Thomas and has 2 daughters; Jennifer and Heather, 3 stepdaughters; Elizabeth, Shannon and Jessica, and 5 grandchildren; Anthony, Brandon, Kane, Kayla and Alice. She also has a Samoyed named Porscha and a boxer named Thunderstruck. In her free time, Angelyn likes reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with her grandbabies.

    “Since the age of 6, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, became the second best – a technician.  I have enjoyed over 30 years of becoming part of the families who trust us with their precious four-legged friends.”

    Lead receptionist, Social Media Specialist

    Deb has been greeting clients and their pets here at Crossroads since March of 2015. She received her Associates of Applied Sciences degree in Programming and Systems from Jamestown Community College and is our Social Media Specialist.

    Born in Forestville, New York, Deb moved to the Dallas area in 1983 and then to Bastrop in 2000. She has two grown sons and three granddaughters; Maddie, Savannah, and Adaleigh. Her home is busy with 10 cats. Indoors she has; Christmas, Patches, Frankie, Tanner, Oliver, and Izzy (her newest addition found here at Crossroads). She also takes care of an ‘outdoor crew’; Princess Mary, Simba, Tuffie and Onyx.  Deb says “she’s a softie for all animals and their welfare.' I have had the privilege of taking care of many pets over the years, not sure why I waited so long to become part of the vet practice world.” She enjoys reading, book club, watching football – NFL and NCAA, working outside in the yard and on her big tractor.

    Veterinary Technician

    Nancy became a part of our Crossroads Animal Hospital family in 2004.  She loves all animals but is particularly fond of cats.  Because of her love for cats, the team has nicknamed her “Cat Woman”.

    Originally from Ashtabula, Ohio, Nancy has lived in Bastrop since 1989.  She is happily married to Rodney. They have 2 children; Krystal and Nicholas and 2 cats, Merlot and Jacks.  

    Nancy spends her “time off” with her family and friends; boating, camping, riding bikes, fishing and swimming.

    “Bastrop is my home and the people are my friends.  I like working at Crossroads because I feel like I can make a difference in our community.  I enjoy helping people and I love animals.”

    Veterinary Technician

    Miriah has worked in the veterinary medicine field since 2001 and joined our Crossroads team in February 2016. She assists our veterinarians with ‘whatever they need help with’. She says “I love to be able to help and speak up for souls who cannot speak for themselves.'

    Originally from Madison, Wisconsin Miriah and her husband live in Bastrop with their son and daughter, their two dogs; Noelle and Emma Darling and their cat, Tripp. In her spare time, she attends her kids’ sporting events and enjoys going to the gym to work out.

    Veterinary Technician

    Many of you may know Vivi from her work here in years past. We welcomed her back to our Crossroads family in March 2018. Originally from Virginia, she and her husband and son make their home in Paige. Their home is full with two dogs; Muneca and Ki, two guinea pigs, two rabbits, two eels, and three chickens!

    When Vivi is not here helping your pets and taking care of her own, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, swimming, free diving, soccer, horseback riding, snowboarding, ice skating, and studying.

  • Elvia

    Originally from Mexico, Elvia moved to Texas when she was seven years old and currently lives in Cedar Creek. She received her Paralegal degree from Virginia College before joining our Crossroads team in October of 2018.

    She has 2 dogs; a German Shepherd named Bruno and a Husky named Mili. Elvia loves to take walks, read and listen to music in her spare time.

    Her favorite animal quote is “animals are such agreeable friends, they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms. '

    Veterinary Assistant

    Avery began working with our Crossroads team as an intern from Cedar Creek High School. She joined our team officially in July 2018. Born in Austin, she has lived in Cedar Creek since she was four years old. Currently attending Austin Community College, Avery will be applying to the Veterinary Technology program in August 2019.

    When she is not here at Crossroads taking care of patients, you might find her spending time with her four dogs; a husky named Luna, a Chihuahua named Mya, a Rottweiler named Niña, and a Dachshund named Molly or pursuing her cosmetology hobby.

    “I love learning about new things every day and helping not only animals,” she says “but the people and my coworkers. I just love making everyone and every animal happy.”

  • Fernanda H
    Veterinary Assistant

    Born in El Paso, Texas, Fernanda now lives in Del Valle, where she says she “loves it there!” She began working with us as an intern from Cedar Creek High School and became a part of our team in July 2018.  She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree at Austin Community College.

    After work you might find Fernanda dancing or spending time with her three dogs; Sissy, Roxy, and Daisy and her three cats; Kitty, Choco, and Bagheera, as well as their many chickens and roosters at her home. 

    Her favorite quote is from Erik Daniel Shein’s book Sanctuary; “The reason I dedicate myself to helping animals so much is because there are already so many people dedicated to hurting them.”

    Surgery Technical Assistant

    Kristin first came to Crossroads Animal Hospital as an intern in 2016. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Animal Science degree, specializing in pre-vet and plans on attending veterinary school after that.

    Growing up in Mississippi, Kristin now lives in Cedar Creek with her family, which includes her dog Shadow,a boxer/American Bulldog mix and her flying squirrel named Nahla. In her free time, Kristin enjoys riding horses, reading and going to school.

    Kristin says “I want to be the voice for those without voices. They can’t tell us what is wrong or what hurts so it’s our responsibility to make sure we help.”
