Angelyn, Hospital Administrator & Technician
Angelyn’s career in veterinary medicine started in 1983 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi where she grew up. She began working with us as a veterinary technician in January, 1992 after moving to Bastrop in 1991. Angelyn was promoted to office manager and then hospital administrator in June of 2014.
She is engaged to Thomas and has 2 daughters; Jennifer and Heather, 3 step daughters; Elizabeth, Shannon and Jessica, and 5 grandchildren; Anthony, Brandon, Kane, Kayla and Alice. She also has a Samoyed named Porscha and a boxer named Thunderstruck. In her free time Angelyn likes reading, cooking, travelling and spending time with her grandbabies.
“Since the age of 6, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, became the second best – a technician. I have enjoyed over 30 years of becoming part of the families who trust us with their precious four-legged friends.”
Deb, Social Media Specialist, Lead Receptionist
Deb has been greeting clients and their pets here at Crossroads since March of 2015. She received her Associates of Applied Sciences degree in Programming and Systems from Jamestown Community College and is our Social Media Specialist.
Born in Forestville, New York, Deb moved to the Dallas area in 1983 and then to Bastrop in 2000. She has two grown sons and three granddaughters; Maddie, Savannah, and Adaleigh. Her home is busy with 10 cats. Indoors she has; Christmas, Patches, Frankie, Tanner, Oliver, and Izzy (her newest addition found here at Crossroads). She also takes care of an ‘outdoor crew’; Princess Mary, Simba, Tuffie and Onyx. Deb says “she’s a softie for all animals and their welfare.' I have had the privilege of taking care of many pets over the years, not sure why I waited so long to become part of the vet practice world.” She enjoys reading, book club, watching football – NFL and NCAA, working outside in the yard and on her big tractor.
Sharon, CVT, Surgical & Dental Technician
Sharon moved to Texas in 2007 from Missouri. She joined our team in May of 2013.
Sharon started working in veterinary medicine in 2005 and became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with the state of Texas in 2008.
In her spare time, she enjoys being a mother to her two children, Circe and Koby. Sharon and her family enjoy outdoor activities and playing with their cat, Sprinkles.
“I enjoy interacting with the clients and their pets by educating them on their pet’s health care.”
Elise, Surgical & Dental Technician
Elise has been in the veterinary business for 20 years and has been part of our team since 2012. She is one of our Surgical Technicians and Dental Technicians.
Elise has 4 cats at home named Bella, Orion, Gordie and Thomas. She spends her spare time with her boys and also enjoys making beautiful jewelry.
Nancy, Veterinary Technician
Nancy became a part of our Crossroads Animal Hospital family in 2004. She loves all animals but is particularly fond of cats. Because of her love for cats, the team has nicknamed her “Cat Woman”.
Originally from Ashtabula, Ohio, Nancy has lived in Bastrop since 1989. She is happily married to Rodney. They have 2 children; Krystal and Nicholas and 2 cats, Merlot and Jacks.
Nancy spends her “time off” with her family and friends; boating, camping, riding bikes, fishing and swimming.
“Bastrop is my home and the people are my friends. I like working at Crossroads because I feel like I can make a difference in our community. I enjoy helping people and I love animals.”
Catherine, Certified Veterinary Technician
Before joining our Crossroads team Catherine received her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology and worked in an equine practice. She joined our Crossroads family to work with our doctors and staff to care for your pets. “Since I was a little girl,” she says. “I’ve dreamed of pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. I completed my two year degree in college and now I’m living out my childhood dream of helping our beloved pets and their owners.”
She was born and raised in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin. She has a son named Terrin, an American Staffordshire terrier named Missy, an Argentine black and white Tegu lizard named Taco and four bearded dragons. She loves horseback riding, going to the beach, and outdoor activities.
Miriah, Technician Assistant
Miriah has worked in the veterinary medicine field since 2001 and joined our Crossroads team in February 2016. She assists our technicians and veterinarians with ‘whatever they need help with’. She says “I love to be able to help and speak up for souls who cannot speak for themselves because people are gross and talk too much!”
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin Miriah and her husband live in Bastrop with their son and daughter, their two dogs; Noelle and Emma Darling and their cat, Tripp. In her spare time, she attends her kids’ sporting events and enjoys going to the gym to work out.
Driann, Technical Assistant
Driann became part of our Crossroads family in February of 2008. She has one younger brother named Derwin. Her furry family includes 3 dogs; Coco, Jetta and Shi and a cat named Man.
When she’s not here at the hospital Driann enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pets. She loves to travel, shop, play the clarinet, visit art galleries and engage in intellectual conversations.

Kay, File Clerk
Kay has lived in the Bastrop area her entire life. She is a huge help to our Crossroads Animal Hospital family as she has kept our files in order for us since January of 2001.
She is married and has four grown children, five grandchildren and a seven year old Heeler named Mattie. Kay enjoys the outdoors and likes fishing, hunting and camping.
Kaitlyn, Kennel Manager
Living in Bastrop since she was 3 years old, Kaitlyn wanted to work at Crossroads Animal Hospital for a long time and finally got her opportunity in May 2017. She is the proud momma to Sammuel Adams Emerson who was brought in by Animal Rescue and thought to be a bait dog. Thank you Kaitlyn for giving him a loving forever home!
She enjoys photography and exploring nature. Because of her love of animals she says “I am interested in learning about the anatomy of dogs and seeing the marvelous effects of Meds. I have a passion for animals and I’d do anything I can to help them live a better life.”
Ashley, Receptionist, Dog Cuddler
Originally from Garfield, Texas Ashley and her family now live in Bastrop. She joined our Crossroads team in May 2016.
Ashley is married with a son and daughter. Their family includes 3 dogs: Misty Blue, Tyler and Blu and 2 “brats” / cats named Tom and Suzie. When she’s not at Crossroads cuddling your precious pets she enjoys drinking coffee, fishing, watching Marvel movies, and going to museums and zoos.
Ashley says “you never know true friendship until you’ve been owned by a dog.” She also says “I love dogs. Every dog. All day. Every day”.
Elizabeth, Vet Tech, Patient Care, Customer Service
Elizabeth has called Bastrop her home since 1996. She became a veterinary technician in 2015. She and her husband have four daughters and two dogs named Milo and Austin.
She loves cooking, spending time with her daughters, anything Texas longhorns, and going to UT games. “Helping animals is rewarding!” says Elizabeth, “we are their voice when they can’t tell us what’s wrong.”
Yesenia (Jessie), Receptionist
Jessie is originally from Mexico and now makes her home in Cedar Creek with her son Andrew Nava and their two dogs; Lucy, a Pomeranian mix and Lola, a Chihuahua.
She says “a pet is the only one on earth who loves you more than he loves himself.” She likes to go hiking, dancing, and enjoys hanging out with friends and family.
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Laurie lived in San Diego most of her life. She was a veterinary assistant years ago and decided to return to the veterinary field when she moved to Bastrop in 2017.
Laurie, her husband Waldo, their daughter and two grandchildren say they are happy to announce they survived their first Texas summer!! They have 2 dogs named Lady and Biscuit. Their grown son Nick lives in Seattle.
She enjoys arts and crafts, church, hosting game nights, travel and says she “loves working with people and their pets.”
Rene was a receptionist and surgical assistant for a bovine practice from 2010 – 2017.
She is single with a married daughter and a son in college who is studying to be a game warden.
She shares her home with a dog named Daisy and a rescue cat named Sheba that she adopted from Crossroads. When she is not here greeting patients and their owners she enjoys gardening and spending time with family and friends. She says, “Sometimes our favorite people aren’t people at all.”
Many of you may know Vivi from her work here in years past. We welcomed her back to our Crossroads family in March 2018. Originally from Virginia, she and her husband and son make their home in Paige. Their home is full with two dogs; Muneca and Ki, two guinea pigs, two rabbits, two eels, and three chickens!
When Vivi is not here helping your pets and taking care of her own, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, swimming, free diving, soccer, horseback riding, snowboarding, ice skating, and studying.
